Letter from the Executive Director

The NAIOP Research Foundation’s research projects, educational programs and outreach activities have a united purpose: to support developers, owners and others involved in commercial real estate to meet and exceed the needs and expectations of our communities, now and in the future.

2023 was another productive and collaborative year for the Foundation as evidenced by the numbers included below. This report serves as a compendium of the Foundation’s activities in 2023 with an eye to the valuable research and initiatives planned for 2024.

In 2023:

  • Published 11 research reports and briefs, for a total of 59 released since 2018.
  • Six Governors pledged financial commitments to support the Foundation’s work.
  • Three Visionaries completed the program and continued their commitment to the Foundation by becoming Governors.

Jean Kane, longtime NAIOP member and Research Foundation Governor since 2013, began her term as chair of the Research Foundation’s board of trustees in 2024. Kane brings a depth of understanding and insight following decades in the industry, serving most recently as CEO of Colliers InternationalMinneapolis/St. Paul, the Minnesota business unit of Colliers International Group Inc. The Foundation will tremendously benefit from her leadership moving forward.
