NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, has promoted Diana Schapiro to vice president of National Forums. She served as senior director of the department since April 2025.

In her new role, Schapiro leads NAIOP’s flagship National Forums program, overseeing 69 Forums that collectively engage more than 1,100 members. She is responsible for launching new Forums focused on timely industry trends and ensuring the program continues to reflect the evolving needs of NAIOP’s membership. Schapiro also spearheads the Developing Leaders Forum program, designing its two-year curriculum and curating speakers, topics and experiences that build industry expertise and leadership skills.

“Diana brings exceptional strategic insight, a deep commitment to member value, and a rare ability to connect people around meaningful, forward-looking conversations,” said Marc Selvitelli, president and CEO of NAIOP. “Her leadership has strengthened the National Forums program and positioned it for continued growth and relevance. We are fortunate to have her guiding one of NAIOP’s most impactful member offerings.”

Schapiro joined NAIOP in 2021 as senior manager of e-learning, where she produced five new or refreshed courses and oversaw NAIOP’s two certificate programs. Prior to joining NAIOP, she served as director of learning for the Special Libraries Association, managing events, webinars, courses and other education initiatives. She also spent eight years at the Institute of International Education, leading conference planning, professional development, and program management for Fulbright exchange programs and private scholarship initiatives.

Schapiro holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies from Emory University and a master’s degree in conflict and diplomacy studies from Reichman University.
