As chapter leaders prepare to come to Washington, D.C., next week for the Chapter Leadership and Legislative Retreat, NAIOP of Florida and NAIOP Washington State members traveled to their respective state capitals last week to meet with state leaders on issues of importance for commercial real estate development. These issues included property tax fairness, housing affordability, safeguarding commercial and industrial development, and economic competitiveness in attracting and retaining businesses.
NAIOP chapters planning visits to their state capitals ensure that the interests of the development industry are taken into consideration as state lawmakers return for their 2026 legislative session. As long as states can pass legislation affecting the industry, it is essential for chapters and their members to remain engaged and at the table, advocating on behalf of CRE.
