Tours and Special Events

For all tours, if you have not checked in for your tour 10 minutes before scheduled departure, your seat will be resold. No refunds for no-shows.

Follow these steps to add a tour or special event to your existing registration:

  • Visit the My Event Registrations page.
  • Follow the prompts to sign in to your NAIOP account if you haven't already signed in.
  • Click "My Corporate Event Registration," and select “View/Edit Details” next to CRE.Converge 2022.
  • In the box that appears, click “Edit” (the pencil icon) next to your name. Follow the prompts to edit any details of your registration. Step two allows you to add or change a tour or special event.
  • Once finished making changes, select "Next Step” and follow the prompts to check out and complete payment.

Today, Pullman remains a unique Chicago community, and is the only one among Chicago’s 50 city landmark districts to enjoy state and national landmark status and to be recognized by the American Planning Association as one of the nation’s 10 Great Neighborhoods. It is Chicago’s only designated National Park. The Bystronic Experience Center, developed by Conor Commercial Real Estate, designed and conceptualized by Heitman Architects and constructed by McShane Construction Company, serves as the hub for U.S. business operations for the Swiss-based advanced manufacturing and metal fabrication company. The turnkey facility offers 165,000 square feet of space which seamlessly integrates the company's headquarters office, showroom, manufacturing and warehouse operations. Hear from the developer, architects and construction team about the planning, design and build phases of this unique project and learn about Bystronic's vision of the smart factory, the latest technologies for laser cutting, and watch a live demonstration. R2 & Blue Star Properties have partnered on a visionary project to transform the former Morton Salt Factory. The building was awarded historic status in 2021 and will keep the iconic “When It Rains It Pours” metal roof, which will now serve as a welcomed community space. Magnificent Mile

Redeveloping an Icon: Tribune Tower and the Magnificent Mile

Longtime home to the Chicago Tribune, Chicago’s iconic neo-Gothic Tribune Tower, which sits along The Magnificent Mile, has been recently redeveloped into 162 luxury condominiums. Co-developers CIM Group and Golub & Company purchased the landmarked 1925 building for $240 million in 2016 and it was said to have a redevelopment budget of $1 billion. In addition to the residences, the building transformation includes a half-acre outdoor space, a pool, fitness center, an outdoor terrace with view of Lake Michigan and more. A ground-floor retail space will house The Museum of Ice Cream. After a tour of this Chicago icon, continue with a walking tour of The Magnificent Mile and hear how The Mile is positioning itself for the future.

Old Post Office

Large-scale Redevelopments: The Old Post Office and Willis Tower

Tour two of Chicago’s largest buildings – the historic Willis Tower and The Old Post Office, both of which have just completed large-scale redevelopment projects. The Old Post Office (TOPO), built in 1921 and expanded in 1932, supported Chicago’s booming mail-order business, and was the world’s largest mail terminal with 19 million pieces of mail processed daily. The property sat vacant for two decades, until 2016 when new ownership began a $900 million renovation, the largest historic redevelopment in history. TOPO now boasts over 2.5 million square feet of multi-use offices and stunning event spaces. Willis Tower has stood as a fixture in Chicago’s skyline since 1973. The iconic 110-story skyscraper is home to 15,000 office workers and welcomes thousands of tourists daily to its Skydeck experience on the 103rd floor. A $500 million redevelopment project completed this year yielded redesigned lobby areas; a dining, retail, entertainment destination; new amenity and event spaces; and art installations by renown artists Jacob Hashimoto and Olafur Eliasson.
