NAIOP Publishes “Rules of Thumb For Distribution/Warehouse Facilities Design, Second Edition”

June 24, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C. – NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, has published a second edition of the book “Rules of Thumb for Distribution/Warehouse Facilities Design.” The ebook is available for purchase and download online.

“Industrial real estate is the hottest sector right now as it is directly impacted by the fact that the way we live and work is changing in real time,” said Thomas J. Bisacquino, President and CEO of NAIOP. “Speedy delivery of goods has never been as much of a focus as it has been during the pandemic and it will continue. As a result, the rules and best practices for design, architecture and use of warehouse and distribution facilities are evolving and this new edition of our book will keep industrial real estate professionals current.”

“Rules of Thumb for Distribution/Warehouse Facilities Design, Second Edition” was updated by HPA, Inc. with former principal Bryon Pinckert as lead author. The handbook addresses topics including site planning for truck and rail delivery, material handling equipment and racking systems layouts, as well as field-tested approaches to complex features such as floor slabs and roofs.

Pinckert will be speaking at NAIOP’s I.CON Virtual, June 23-25, 2020.
