Kick-off Networking Event

Wednesday, Nov. 10, 4 - 6:30 p.m. (bus departs 3:30 p.m.)

Bus boards at 3:15 p.m., departs at 3:30 p.m. and returns at 7 p.m.

  • The event venue requires proof of vaccination status be shown at the door (either a vaccination card or picture on a phone). Partial vaccination is acceptable.
  • Masks are required while taking bus transportation.

Join other industrial leaders at Bowlmor Chelsea Piers – overlooking the Hudson River at Pier 60 – for lively conversations, imaginative culinary creations and, if you are so inclined, friendly competition. Cold Storage Tour

  • Dress in warm clothes/layers and wear closed-toe shoes.
  • Photos are not allowed.

Take an icy plunge into one of the hottest sectors in industrial real estate: cold storage. The tour will start with a visit to the new FreezPak Logistics Center developed by Elberon. This 140,000-square foot facility features 75-foot ceilings and 30,000 pallet positions throughout the warehouse. Next, visit the 70,000-square-foot Garden State Cold Storage facility in Newark, designed and built by Food Tech, which includes a computer-controlled central industrial refrigeration system and a refrigerated dock. This tour provides an ideal opportunity to learn about the specific requirements, advanced engineering and automation that go into cold storage operations.

Kearny Point

Kearny Point, a 130-acre site that once was home to a shipyard that built ships for the U.S. Navy during World War II, is now an innovative adaptive reuse project that incorporates flexible office space, mixed-use industrial space, urban farming and regenerative landscapes, outdoor community/entertainment spaces, wetland restoration, environmental infrastructure and more. Tour highlights include an inside look at what has become a center for the pioneering companies of the new economy – a flexible, modern workplace home to a diverse community of today's creators, tenants like Envrmnt from Verizon Labs, MKBHD and UNIQLO. Get a behind-the-screen look at movie magic with stops at film production and sound stage studios in legacy Class B warehouses.
