June 3

Manufacturing Fragrances and Flavors Tour

2:45 p.m.-7 p.m.

Experience a project tour the likes of which you’ve never seen – or smelled – before. Founded in Switzerland in 1895, Firmench is the largest private company in the fragrance and flavor industry. This tour will take you through a Firmench manufacturing plant that creates a time-released fragrance enhancer to make smells last longer. The tour includes a smelling session, visit to a butterfly garden and a presentation about sustainability. Finish with a light reception and additional time to connect with other attendees.

June 4

Newark Airport/FedEx Operations Tour

7:15 a.m.-noon

This unique field visit includes a tarmac-side tour of the Newark Liberty International Airport’s (EWR) extensive domestic and international cargo operations. EWR is the 11th largest cargo airport in the U.S., and a major hub for express carriers FedEx and UPS, with nearly 1 million square feet of total cargo facility space. Attendees will also have the chance to tour FedEx operations at the airport, including aircraft.

Registration for this tour closes May 17. All tour attendees must provide NAIOP with their birthdate for security clearance at FedEx. Sign up early for this popular tour!

Class A Warehouse Tour

7:45 a.m.-Noon

Strong demand has driven continued development of Class A warehouse space in the New Jersey market, with the market poised for continued growth, according to Cushman & Wakefield. This tour will showcase the redevelopment of two former brownfield sites into massive Class A warehouses: the 4.1 million-square-foot Linden Logistics Center, a state-of-the-art logistics park that will house eight warehouses once completed, and Home Depot’s 1.3 million-square-foot Steel Run Logistics Center.

Kearny Tour

7:45 a.m.-noon

The former shipyard of Kearny Point, which was a major supplier of ships for the U.S. Navy during the world wars, is being remade into a center for the pioneering companies of the new economy. In addition to industrial space, Kearny Point includes flexible, modern workspace that is home to a diverse community of makers, creators and innovators. The second stop on the tour, the River Terminal, will bring you to the South Kearny Industrial Complex, a former Western Electric site which features approximately 3.2 million square feet of prime warehouse and multitenant distribution facilities, as well as available build-to-suit space.

Waterside Tour of the Port of New York and New Jersey

7:45 a.m.-noon

Learn about harbor operations of the largest port on the East Coast on this boat tour. Discover how the Bayonne Bridge channel was deepened and raised, and what that means for the port. See the key channels used for maritime activities and find out more about all of the traffic that passed through this bustling port.
