Robert E. O’Neill is President of the Southgate Corporation, a comprehensive real estate development firm specializing in industrial and commercial properties.

Southgate Corporation began developing real estate in 1954, and in the early 1970’s started developing Industrial properties in the central Ohio area. This coincides with the same timeframe when his father and founder of Southgate, Jack O’Neill served two terms as Chairman of NAIOP.

Southgate has developed well over six million sq. ft. of manufacturing buildings ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 sq. ft. in the central Ohio marketplace and developing industrial properties is the primary focus of Southgate’s development business these days.

Additionally, Southgate is currently developing two industrial parks in central Ohio; the Newark Ohio Industrial Park and the Etna Corporate Park as well as developing the McMillen Business Center, a 200 acre mixed-use park in Newark, Ohio.

Robert is the past President of the Central Ohio Chapter of NAIOP as well as a member of NAIOP’s Entrepreneurial Investment & Development Forum. Robert currently serves as a Director for the Park National Bank and the Park National Corporation, a publicly traded bank holding company. He also serves on the Board of Governors for the Licking County Foundation with assets in excess of $100 million as well as three community not-for-profit Boards.

Robert graduated from the Ohio State University in 1985 with a B.S. in Photography and continues his interest in film and photography in his spare time. He is married to Alexa Robinson and resides in Granville, Ohio.
