Blake Porter brings a unique blend of financial expertise and real estate acumen to his leadership role as Vice President of Investments at NorthPoint Development. Beginning his career in data science analytics at IBM, he built a strong quantitative foundation that was further honed during a five-year tenure on the trading desk at American Century. While there, he traded stocks and fixed income products and developed analytical tools and dashboards to evaluate trading performance. During this time, he also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
For the past three and a half years since joining NorthPoint Development, his focus has been on industrial real estate. He started at NorthPoint in asset management, overseeing a portfolio of assets across the Midwest and West Coast. Now, as Vice President of Investments, he leverages this background to help lead the company's industrial joint venture equity platform, including both speculative and build-to-suit projects. He is responsible for evaluating new deals, developing and structuring capital relationships, and managing strategic dispositions. In addition, he also serves as the Portfolio Manager for one of NorthPoint’s Industrial Funds - a 6 million square foot portfolio representing over $400 million of total investment. Blake looks forward to using his experience in finance, analytics, and industrial real estate to further the mission of the NAIOP Kansas City Chapter.
