Maria Alexakis is a managing director in CIBC’s U.S. Commercial Real Estate Group. She leads a team executing CIBC’s relationship banking strategy with middle-market companies in the commercial real estate industry. She is responsible for business development and relationship management, generating new commercial real estate relationships and identifying opportunities to expand existing relationships with clients.
Before joining CIBC subsidiary PrivateBank in October 2007, Alexakis was a senior vice president in LaSalle Bank’s Illinois commercial real estate division, leading a team of relationship managers who oversaw a nearly $1 billion portfolio.
Alexakis is a Board Member of NAIOP Chicago, currently serving as their Programming Chair and previously serving as a Liaison to the Developing Leaders Board, she is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and has been a mentor for CIBC’s corporate mentor program. In 2017, she participated in the Executives’ Club of Chicago’s LEAD program for high-potential talent.
