Mike began his career in the industry when he joined Opus Group in 2016. His experience spans both multifamily and industrial sectors where he has contributed to four multifamily projects totaling over 800 units and seven industrial projects totaling over 2.2 million square feet.
Building relationships with clients and business partners alike is important to Mike, and he does just that while working on projects. When a supplier, chosen by the client, was unable to meet the demands of the schedule during construction on Liberty Heartland Logistics Center in Liberty, MO, Mike stepped in to facilitate a solution. He worked to find a replacement for the supplier, but did so in a way that not only met the client’s needs with their relationships, but also took the overall project schedule and budget into account.
His communication skills and ability to work under pressure, combined with his work ethic, have contributed greatly to his successful career. While working on Hallmark at Liberty Heartland Logistics Center, the team was faced with a challenge regarding the height of the fence on site. While the town permitted a particular fence height, Hallmark required a taller fence to maintain their standing with various trade groups that were critical to their supply chain success. Mike understood the various stakeholder’s (City of Liberty, Hallmark, Construction Team, Development Team) desires and helped the team successfully navigate a variance process that allowed the taller fence height to be permitted and approved by the city without any impact to the project schedule.
Outside of the office, Mike enjoys spending time working on his health, both mental and physical, by weightlifting and running and has recently completed his second marathon. He also enjoys reading about philosophies, such as stoicism, and how they can help people lead a more fulfilling life. Above all else, Mike loves spending time with his family, especially outdoors.
