Will Hazelip serves as president of National Grid Ventures (NGV), US, a division of National Grid that operates independently from its core utility businesses in the U.S. and U.K. NGV develops, manages and invests in energy infrastructure projects that accelerate the energy transition.
As President, Will oversees a diverse, cross-functional team who manages a large portfolio of energy infrastructure investments in electric transmission, renewable and conventional power generation, and liquefied natural gas.
Since joining National Grid in 2015, Will has been instrumental in the creation and growth of NGV. He has played a key role in forging strategic partnerships, including the formation of New York Transco, a joint venture dedicated to building large-scale transmission infrastructure across New York State. Will has more than 20 years of strategy, business development, transaction, finance and operations experience.
Previously, he held various leadership roles at Duke Energy where he led the acquisition and subsequent management of Path 15, an electric transmission company in California and the divestiture of DukeNet, a regional telecom provider. During this time, he was also responsible for origination and development of new business opportunities for the non-franchise electric transmission unit in North America.
Will holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from Emory University and an International Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. He serves on several Boards of Directors including the New York Transco and Soluna Holdings ($SLNH).
