A-P Hurd is the president of SkipStone, a consulting firm that provides real estate and planning services to private and public clients. She is the former president of Touchstone, a real estate development company that built nearly three million square feet of office, retail, hotel and residential space between 2007 and 2017, and won the NAIOP Developer of the Year award in 2016. Since founding SkipStone in 2017, Hurd has supported clients includng the City of San Jose, helping them negotiate a development agreement with Google and Lendlease for seven million square feet of office and 6,000 units of housing, and has helped Community Roots Housing capitalize and develop the first mass timber workforce housing project in the country. Hurd is a director on several corporate and nonprofit boards and is the incoming chair of the Community Development Roundtable (CDRT). She taught for nine years at the Runstad Department of Real Estate at the University of Washington, is the author of “The Carbon Efficient City,” and speaks and writes nationally and internationally about urban economics, transit and housing.
