Scott Ziance is a partner with Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP in Columbus, Ohio, where he leads the firm’s national economic development incentives practice, which is one of the largest law firm-based incentives practices in the country – having worked on projects in approximately 30 states over the past decade. Scott also chairs the board of managers for the Vorys law firm’s site selection ancillary business, Vista Site Selection, LLC. He has been practicing law for 27 years with a focus on the utilization of economic development incentives, tax incentives, economic development financing mechanisms, public-private partnerships and special economic development entities to assist developers, operating businesses and political subdivisions in developing and redeveloping property and creating jobs and economic growth throughout the United States. Mr. Ziance has represented a West Coast-based Fortune 10 company as incentives counsel in 13 states from coast to coast and represented a Fortune 50 retailer on incentives matter in four different time zones. In addition to leading numerous headquarters, manufacturing and data center projects throughout the United States, Mr. Ziance has facilitated the construction of more than 100 distribution centers containing approximately 50 million square feet. He also has led hyperscale data center incentives deals that are leading to more than $50 billion in capital expenditures in 5 time zones. Mr. Ziance received his JD cum laude from Harvard Law School and received his BA magna cum laude from Bowling Green State University.
