Today, NAIOP President and CEO Thomas Bisacquino shared the following statement with NAIOP members regarding the operating status of the organization during the COVID-19 situation.
The unprecedented COVID-19 situation is affecting every aspect of our businesses and lives. While NAIOP member benefits and services will not be impacted, the NAIOP Corporate office is adjusting our normal business practices to protect the health and well-being of our staff.
Beginning Monday, March 16, NAIOP Corporate will operate on a virtual basis. Staff are completely reachable during regular business hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m. ET) via phone and email, which you can find on our Contact Us page.
You can renew or modify your membership online, and you can communicate with a membership specialist by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
NAIOP’s communications and services will continue: You’ll receive the weekly NAIOP Source e-newsletter; the Spring issue of Development magazine will be delivered via mail and available online; our on-demand courses are always available to help you deepen your commercial real estate knowledge; and the Market Share blog will help keep you in-touch with industry news and trends.
We’re currently developing online programs that will provide forecasts and insights into what this business interruption means to our economy. Additionally, NAIOP is part of a legislative coalition of real estate organizations that is working with policymakers on strategies to stimulate the economy moving forward.
While NAIOP’s I.CON Spring 2020 conference has been cancelled and the National Forums Symposium 2020 has been postponed, all other future meetings remain scheduled as planned. Members should connect with their local chapter on the status of chapter events.
This week, NAIOP senior staff is meeting with chapter leaders from across North America to coordinate efforts, provide strategies and offer support as we face this rapidly changing situation together.
My thanks to our members for your understanding as we all work to navigate this difficult time. On behalf of the NAIOP staff, we look forward to continuing to serve our members and support your businesses now and into the future.
