Confidence in the Availability of Debt and Equity Capital Keep NAIOP Sentiment Index Positive

The NAIOP CRE Sentiment Index for September 2017 decreased slightly to 0.49 (from 0.56 in the March 2017 survey). A reading greater than zero indicates that respondents believe, as a group, that general market conditions over the next 12 months will continue to be favorable for the CRE industry, and overall conditions will be better in 12 months (September 2018) than they are today.

Tax Reform Measure Moving in House

Members of the House Ways and Means Committee will review their tax reform bill, aimed at reducing tax rates and simplifying the tax code, with the goal of moving the final bill to the floor later this week. The Senate is expected to work on a similar measure this week as well. If enacted, the measure would be the first comprehensive tax reform measure since the Reagan administration.
