Project Tour: The Transformation of 1271 Avenue of the Americas (First tour)

Witness the transformation of 1271 Avenue of the Americas, where a comprehensive $325 million renovation is underway to convert the former Time-Life Building from a single-tenant to a multi-tenanted office building. Major elements of the renovation project include the replacement of the building’s glass curtain wall, allowing approximately 60 percent more light into the interior space, as well as restoration of the building’s landmarked lobby.

Line up in lobby at 1:45 pm.

Walking tour; limited to 25 people. This tour will be repeated at 3 p.m. Select your tour at event registration, or contact Susan Bornt to add a tour to your registration.

Project Tour: Roosevelt Island Grows Ivy with Cornell Tech

Time: 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Talk with the team behind Cornell University’s new talent incubator campus being developed on New York City’s Roosevelt Island. When all phases of the development have been completed, the project will span 2 million square feet and cost an estimated $2 billion. The city provided the university with $100 million in capital funding for the project to help create a tech talent stream that will fuel the growth of technology startups in New York City. The tour also includes a visit to Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park at the southern part of the island.

Project Tour: Hudson Yards

Hear from the developer, architect and engineers behind Hudson Yards, the largest private real estate development in the United States. The site will include more than 18 million square feet of commercial and residential space, state-of-the-art office towers, more than 100 shops and a collection of select restaurants. The urban development will include approximately 4,000 residences; The Shed, a new center for artistic invention; 14 acres of public open space; a 750-seat public school and a luxury hotel.

Confirmation

All registrations processed online receive an automatic order confirmation and receipt. If you register via fax, mail, or phone, a receipt must be requested by contacting education@naiop.org.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be in writing. Cancellations of Spouse Program registrations received after April 9, 2018, will be charged a fee of $35 per attendee. Cancellations received after April 23, 2018, will forfeit the registration fee and/or surcharge (if applicable). No refunds will be made for no-shows. Cancellation notices should be sent to the NAIOP Education Department education@naiop.org or faxed to (703) 674-1471.

  • The rate will be extended for three days before and after the blocked dates, subject to availability (April 28-May 6, 2018).
  • A deposit equal to one night’s stay is required to hold each individual’s reservation. Should a guest cancel a reservation, the deposit will be refunded if notice is received at least two working days prior to arrival, and a cancellation number is obtained. Name changes to room reservations may be made up to three days prior to arrival at no charge, if there is no change to the arrival and departure dates.
