Property Group Partners mixed use buildings

2.2 million sq. ft.

Property Group Partners has completed the first phase of construction for an elevated deck above Interstate 395 in Washington, D.C., and has begun vertical construction on the first building at Capitol Crossing, a three-block, seven-acre, 2.2 million-square-foot project that will consist of five mixed-use buildings. The completed work includes upgraded infrastructure such as a new high-voltage electrical line and new water mains. The second phase will consist of almost 30,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space with 11 stories of offices above, as well as completion of the highway deck over I-395 to E Street, NW.


McCraney speculative industrial property

1.33 million sq. ft.

McCraney Property Co. plans to develop a speculative industrial property totaling nearly 1.33 million square feet on 70 acres of farmland the company acquired in July 2016 along County Line Road in Plant City, Florida. County Line Logistics Center at Fancy Farms will include four spec buildings ranging in size from 131,200 to 876,200 square feet, with ceiling clear heights up to 36 feet. Target tenants include those with freight forwarding and fulfillment needs.


Principio Commerce Center

1.15 million sq. ft.

Trammell Crow Company and Diamond Realty Investments Inc. have begun construction on Principio Commerce Center I, a 1.15 million-square-foot distribution center expected to be completed in spring 2017. The center will feature a cross-dock design with 190-foot truck courts and 283 trailer stalls, up to 216 dock doors, 36-foot ceiling clear heights, an early suppression fast response (ESFR) sprinkler system and a seven and a half-inch slab. The center is part of the 6 million-square-foot Principio Business Park in the I-95 North submarket in North East, Maryland.


Pure Development distribution and light manufacturing center

208,000 sq. ft.

Pure Development has begun construction on a new distribution and light manufacturing center for Regal-Beloit in McAllen, Texas, a growing industrial market near the U.S.-Mexico border. The 208,000-square-foot facility, which is expandable to 288,000 square feet, will provide logistics support to Regal’s electric motor manufacturing plants just across the border. Pure expects to complete the building before the end of 2016.

35,000 sq. ft.

Andrew Franz Architect has reimagined a financial services firm’s headquarters as a “home for work.” Construction began in July 2016 on the double-height loft penthouse in a 1913 building in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards neighborhood. At the center of the offices, which are expected to open this winter, is a bridge structure that connects the mezzanine floor’s two sides. A large, open stairway will double as seating for town-hall meetings. The design creates a variety of places where the firm’s 90 employees can withdraw from open, public areas into more intimate, library-style quiet zones and breakout spaces for meetings and discussions.


energy efficient headquarters River District

16,500 sq. ft.

Fort Capital has begun construction on its new 16,500-square-foot, two-story, energy-efficient headquarters building in Fort Worth’s River District. Slated for completion in February 2017, it is the first nonresidential project to break ground in the River District, a new upscale entertainment and housing district that Fort Capital is developing three miles west of downtown. In addition to housing Fort Capital, the building will offer seven to 10 additional office suites, 92 percent of which have been preleased. The two-story structure has been designed to resemble a treehouse, with reclaimed wood flooring and paneling.


LGE Design Build industrial building

12,290 sq. ft.

LGE Design Build has completed construction of a 12,290-square-foot industrial building in Phoenix for Reel Men Studios, a company that supports the film and commercial production industry. The building features a 50- by 60-foot professional production studio with 24-foot ceilings and 3,000 amps of power as well as storage facilities, a production office and more. A large parking lot accommodates the company’s 11 box trucks and vans, while a truck well reduces load times and increases safety by enabling staff to load and unload heavy equipment without a lift gate.


SkyRise Miami Florida's tallest building

1,000 feet tall

SkyRise Miami is expected to be Florida’s tallest building and the country’s southernmost observation tower when it is completed in 2020. The 1,000-foot-tall tower will be developed by Jeff Berkowitz and operated by Legends, the sports and entertainment company owned by the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. Set on the shores of Biscayne Bay, the project will offer guests a variety of entertainment options, including multiple observation venues, interactive exhibits, thrill rides, family attractions and dining venues.



Goodman Commerce Center Eastvale Business Park

205 acres

Goodman Birtcher broke ground on Goodman Commerce Center Eastvale Business Park in July 2016. The park is part of Goodman Commerce Center Eastvale, a 205-acre mixed-use development featuring logistics, retail and medical space. The project is located directly off Interstate 15 in Eastvale, California. The business park will comprise three multitenant buildings as well as four additional buildings ranging from 20,000 to 40,000 square feet. Volkswagen Group of America has leased 57,250 square feet for a training facility. The development is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2017.


Kearney Point transformation

130 acres

WXY architecture + urban design is master planning the transformation of Kearny Point, a former shipyard in Kearny, New Jersey, into a modern “maker hub.” The first phase of the redevelopment project reinvents Building 78, a 210,000-square-foot former federal shipbuilding facility, into multitenant spaces for next-generation manufacturing companies. Working with owner Hugo Neu Corp., the design firm is also studying the feasibility of the adaptive reuse of Building 54, a 280,000-square-foot structure.
