    Yong Nam is president of HPA, Inc., the most prolific architectural firm in the U.S. He joined the firm in 1993 as a project architect and rose to become partner and president in 2008. Under his direction, HPA designed over 40 million square feet of facilities in the calendar year 2018. The unique productivity of the architectural teams at HPA, which has less than 40 employees, is a result of Nam’s wide-ranging experience and operational knowledge in structuring a dynamic studio environment to effectively manage the largest scale projects in the industry. He has been involved in all phases of architectural services: master planning, inventory building design, build-to-suit building design, facilities programming, and project management. Yong received both Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Engineering degrees from the University of Oklahoma. Contrary to persistent rumors, he did not play on their football team. Yong maintains professional affiliations with the American Institute of Architects, the NCARB, NAIOP, and CSI. After designing and building a house in Orange County that he and his children live in, he has studiously avoided residential commissions.
