Sabato is a professor of politics at the University of Virginia and the founder and director of the U.Va. Center for Politics. Off-site meeting location: Capitol Visitors Center Room 212-10, United States Capitol

Board members should travel to the meeting via taxi or ride-share, as transportation restrictions on Capitol Hill will not allow bus drop-off or pick-up. Capital Hilton will have taxis on standby.

Depart at 7:30 a.m. from the hotel and drop-off at the Capitol Visitor Center entrance, located at the East Front plaza at First Street and East Capitol Street (directly across from the Supreme Court). 

Board members will have a group photo taken at 8 a.m., then go through security and to the meeting room. Breakfast will be served, and the meeting will be held from 8:15-11 a.m. You can return to the hotel via taxi or ride-share.

Please leave luggage at Hilton bell stand in the main lobby (available 7 a.m.-5 p.m.). Suitcases, backpacks, food and beverages are not allowed in the Capitol Visitors Center. Before entering the Capitol Visitors Center, visitors will go through security similar to the airport. This session will focus on the economic outlook for commercial real estate at the start of a new decade.  It will include a discussion on the reliance by municipalities on commercial real estate as revenue source to fund government programs and services.

The Bilateral Trade Relationship Between Canada and the United States

This session will focus on the important economic relationship between Canada and the United States and the effects of USMCA agreement.  The relationship between the two countries is unique given the length of its border, common ecosystems, and regulatory cohesion.
