Disruption and the Implications for Commerical Real Estate: Automation, Connected Vehicles and Smart Technologies

When you envision “driverless” cars, you’re probably not the only one who invokes images of Knight Rider’s KITT.  While it’s hard to wrap our minds around the idea of self-driving cars, vehicle automation is accelerating, catalyzed by substantial private investment, successful demonstrations and significant public discussion. Our expert will walk us through how vehicle manufacturers, and others such as Uber and Google, are pushing for the rapid advancement of driverless cars to be mainstream in five short years – and how likely this is to happen. There are at least four parking spaces for every car in the U.S., totaling up to 150 billion square feet of real estate. Self-driving cars will decrease the need for these parking spots, so what can be done to paved lots and garages? Given that this trend is coming – in some way, shape or form – the commercial real estate industry needs to begin planning for this game changer now. Leave this session with new knowledge and takeaways on how you can prepare now for this fast-emerging revolution.

Breakfast will be served until 7:30 a.m.
