Click the report link at the bottom of the page. Registration is required to download the report.

The Dollars and Sense of Green Retrofits

What motivates organizations to undergo a green retrofit and what is the price premium for doing so? In this Deloitte/Charles Lockwood survey of LEED-certified project owners, corporate environmental commitment ranked the highest motivation for a green retrofit. Find out more about the drivers for taking on these projects and the costs associated with them in this report.

DOE Pursues Zero-Net Energy Initiative for Commercial Buildings

August 5, 2008 -- The U.S. Department of Energy announced the launch of their Zero-Net Energy program with establishment of the National Laboratory Collaborative on Building Technologies. Both focus on DOE's ongoing efforts to develop buildings that use cutting-edge efficiency technologies and on-site renewable energy (such as solar power and geothermal) generation to offset their energy use from the electricity grid by 2025.

Reducing Building Energy Costs

Looking for a new Web site of resources and case studies highlighting how to reduce commercial building energy costs? Real estate professionals can find information on how to increase office real estate asset value and profitability through reduced energy use and operating costs. Energy efficient purchasing guidelines and how to deal with energy issues in leases is also discussed.

NAIOP Energy Policy

Are you familiar with NAIOP's recently released energy policy statement? The policy follows NAIOP's Policy on Sustainable Development, which was announced in September 2007.

NAIOP Resource Focuses on Costs of Sustainable Building

How much does developing a green building cost? What Does it Really Cost?, a session at NAIOP's 2007 DevelopGREEN conference, focused on the real costs of pursuing sustainable building. Panelists shared case studies on different products, present information on real costs and look at operational payback periods and savings. This highly informative session provided valuable guidance to attendees on what they can really expect in cost payback when developing sustainable projects.
