International Task Force Developing Energy Due Diligence Standards
As a first step toward real estate energy transparency, ASTM is creating a framework for identifying, collecting and measuring building energy. The group's work also includes uniform reporting of data to investors, lenders and tenants and standardization of variables such as regional climate and occupancy.
GBI Launches New Certification Programs
The Green Building Initiative (GBI) is offering two new personnel certification programs, called Green Globes Professional (GGP) and Green Globes Assessor (GGA). The GGP program is designed to train and educate the building community in emerging green building best practices, including the use of the Green Globes rating system for new and existing commercial buildings.

ProLogis and Forest City Covington Named 2009 Sustainable Development Award Winners
Congratulations to ProLogis and Forest City Covington - recipients of NAIOP's 2009 Sustainable Development Award that will be presented during a special ceremony on Thursday, October 15, at NAIOP's Development '09: The Annual Meeting for Commercial Real Estate, in Chicago.
ProLogis is being honored for its industrial project, the S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc., building in Sturtevant, Wis.; and Forest City Covington is being recognized for its office building that houses Fidelity Investments at Mesa del Sol in Albuquerque, N.M.
