NAIOP Research Foundation Appoints Richard Nicholas Loope, FAIA, as Distinguished Fellow
Distinguished Fellows link the academic and practicing commercial real estate communities

Washington, D.C. — The National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) Research Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard "Ryc" Nicholas Loope, FAIA, as Distinguished Fellow, effective January 1, 2008, according to Shirley A. Maloney, NAIOP Research Foundation executive director.

The NAIOP Distinguished Fellows program serves as a bridge between the practicing commercial real estate community and the academic community. Distinguished Fellows are active in NAIOP, including contributing articles to Development magazine, presenting to the association's leadership via the Board of Directors or National Forums, participation on national committees and providing advice, feedback and information to NAIOP regarding research being conducted in commercial real estate.

Loope is a Professor for the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture and Director of Real Estate Programs in the College of Design at Arizona State University. In addition to previous academic teaching experience, Loope was the president and principal of Taliesin Architects, as well as CEO and principal for Durant Group. Loope attended the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School, received his Master of Environmental Design degree from Yale University and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Maryland. Presently, Loope is the President and CEO of HL Design Build LLC and a founding member and principal of PDI and global design consortium.

Loope has authored/co-authored 30 articles, papers and books excerpts on professional practice, energy strategies and architectural education, and serves on the Board of Directors for numerous organizations such as Arizona Habitat for Humanity, ASU Stardust Center and Solar Energy Research Foundation. As a NAIOP Distinguished Fellow, Loope will serve on the Green Building Awards Committee.
