Six concurrent tracks are offered during the retreat, each tailored toward the various chapter roles represented at the conference. And while leaders are encouraged to attend the sessions in their track, attendees are free to sit in on any topics they feel would be beneficial to their professional development and chapter growth.
Attendees will gather together for general sessions, keynote speakers, breakfasts and luncheons.
Tracks include:
Leadership Track - Sessions focus on leadership and chapter development, including designing chapter programs, motivating volunteers and management strategies. Chapter Presidents and Presidents-Elect are encouraged to attend this track, with sessions including:
- How to Identify, Attract, Engage and Keep your Volunteers
- Whose Responsibility Is It Anyway?
Legislative Track - Sessions focus on federal and state legislative efforts, industry and association issues and developing strong government affairs programs. Public Affairs Chairs and Chapter Lobbyists are encouraged to attend this track, with sessions including:
- Discussions on Important State and Local Issues Affecting Our Industry
- NAIOP's Federal Legislative Priorities
Management Track - Chapter staff and administrators share ideas and discuss new ways to manage the various chapter activities, goals and programs. Executive Directors and Chapter Administrators are encouraged to attend this track, with sessions including:
- Dedicated Sessions for Idea Exchange
- Setting Up a PAC
Membership Track - Sessions focus on building membership numbers, attracting new life to a chapters and retaining current membership. Membership Chairs are encouraged to attend this track, with sessions including:
- Tools to Manage and Grow Your Membership
- NAIOP's Value Proposition
Program Track - Sessions focus on offering quality education sessions, planning stellar special events and marketing. Program Chairs are encouraged to attend this track, with sessions including:
- Getting the Most from Sponsorships
- Updates on Major Industry Issues
Developing Leaders Track - Sessions focus on developing programs and events specific to attracting members in the age 35 and under demographic, identifying and utilizing emerging leaders and establishing growth targets to increase Developing Leader (DL) membership. Developing Leaders are encouraged to attend this track, with sessions including:
- Creating and Supporting DL Committees
- How to Work a Room
- Innovative DL Programming
